Edge Member, Demetrios Roubos, Receives Non-Profit CISO of the Year Award

CYBERSECURITY INNOVATOR: Demetrios Roubos (middle) recently accepted the Non-Profit Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Year Award from New Jersey Tech Council President & CEO James Barrood (right) and Edge Director of Network and Security Operations Michael Reekie. Roubos is Stockton University’s Assistant Director of Information System and Security Administrator, and also serves as co-chair of Edge’s Security Community of Practice.

Award Presented at New Jersey Technology Council’s Annual CIO/CISO Conference

Newark, N.J. – Edge Security Community of Practice member, Demetrios Roubos, was honored with the NJ Tech Council’s CISO of the Year Award (Non-Profit Company) at the annual CIO/CISO Conference held October 4, 2017. Hailed as the NJ Tech Council’s highest honor, the CISO of the Year Award is designed to recognize information security experts for their innovation and creativity in planning and deploying their enterprise systems, future IT goals, management philosophy and service to the industry and community.

Roubos, Stockton University’s Assistant Director of Information System & Security Administrator, was presented with the award by James Barrood, President and CEO, NJ Tech Council, and Michael Reekie, Director of Network and Security Operations, Edge. His leadership with Stockton University’s security strategy is derived from the mission set forth by the Information Technology Services team wherein the team strives to support ubiquitous, integrated and fully engaging learning experiences. As a core member of the team, Roubos takes a proactive and collaborative approach to deliver innovative, reliable and sustainable technologies that optimize satisfaction and desired outcomes.

“Demetrios is well deserving of the Non-Profit CISO of the Year Award,” said Robert R. Heinrich, CIO, Stockton University. “He is the embodiment of Stockton University’s core values, an asset to New Jersey’s expansive technology community and an exceptional mentor for new entrants to the industry.”

Demetrios Roubos holds professional certifications as an AMX Certified Expert, AMX Certified Designer, AMX Certified Installer and AMX Certified Programmer. He is a cybersecurity advocate as well as strong proponent of introducing careers in technology to high school students. Further proof of Demetrios’s commitment to technology is his recent ranking as the Center for Digital Education’s 2017 Top 30 Technologists, Transformers and Trailblazers. Roubos is active in all levels of the information security arena. As a co-chair of Edge’s Security Community of Practice, he was an invaluable contributor and catalyst to the development of Edge’s cybersecurity solution, EdgeSecure.
