Newark, NJ, September 25, 2019 – Edge, the region’s nonprofit research and education network and technology partner, announced a new partnership with Comodo Cybersecurity. This partnership, negotiated through Edge’s consortium purchasing vehicle, EdgeMarket, enables Edge members to access Comodo’s solutions via a streamlined purchasing process in order to reduce time to implementation and quickly and effectively protect against cybersecurity threats.

Comodo, a leader in innovative cybersecurity solutions, will fulfill the need for Advanced Endpoint Protection as part of Edge’s EdgeSecure ecosystem. Comodo’s unique approach to cybersecurity, consisting of a zero-trust security environment that verdicts 100% of unknown files, represents the cutting edge of protection against ransomware and other emerging security threats. Their patented software quarantines and scans unknown files, validating them in a dedicated virtual environment before they’re allowed to run on a user’s device.

Dylan Hoch, Sales Director at Comodo Cybersecurity commented on the partnership, “We are very excited to partner with Edge to serve the education and public sector communities. Our patented auto-containment technology captures unknown files and potential malicious threats that users interact with, immediately containing suspect files in a quarantined virtual environment. This endpoint protection eliminates almost all threats caused by human error, the most common attack vector for malicious actors.”

This partnership gives education, healthcare, and government institutions access to streamlined purchasing through Edge’s Lead Agency Status. This consortium purchasing approach will ease the burden placed on members’ procurement teams, and enable IT teams to quickly and effectively onboard cutting edge security technology at a time when they need it most.

Jeremy Livingston, Chief Information Security Officer commented, “Cybersecurity threats such as ransomware continue to grow more frequent and more sophisticated. In combination with social engineering efforts, these cyber threats take advantage of tech vulnerabilities and user error to attack a target’s environment. We’re excited to partner with Comodo to protect education and public sector institutions because their zero-trust architecture creates a buffer between the end user and the potentially harmful files and links they encounter daily.”
