DESCRIPTION:Insights from the fantastic growth at Gilead\, Tesla and Modern Meadow: \nRex Liu \nVP of Finance Modern Meadow \nRex Liu is currently the VP of Finance at Modern Meadow\, a biotech harnessing the power of design\, biology and engineering to produce the world’s first biofabricated leather materials. He spent most of his professional career in Silicon Valley with over 15 years of experience working with and at emerging and high growth companies. Most recently\, Rex built and oversaw the controllership team at Tesla Motors and was part of the team that helped Tesla go public\, as well as implemented the financial systems to enable the Model S launch. Prior to Tesla\, Rex worked at Gilead Sciences\, where he supported the financial growth of the company from $870 million to $7 billion in revenues. Rex is a CPA and began his professional career at Ernst & Young serving life sciences\, tech and entrepreneurial clients. Rex received his honors bachelor’s degree in immunology as well as an MBA from the University of Toronto.
