DESCRIPTION:NYSERNet\, The Rockefeller University\, ESnet\, Indiana University and Internet2 have partnered to offer members of the NYSERNet community a free custom Science DMZ\, perfSONAR and Software Defined Networking workshop in New York City this September. \nNJEdge members are encouraged sign up today to learn how to implement a Science DMZ architecture on your campus or laboratory’s local network perimeter\, see examples of successful deployments\, learn about network devices capable of handling scientific use cases\, and sensible ways to transform your campus security policies. \nNetwork engineers will learn what they need to plan and operate SDN on their networks. The GlobalNOC will show you how to design\, deploy and operate SDN networks\, touching on: \n\nSDN hardware and software selection\nArchitectural models for interconnecting SDN and traditional networks\nThe building blocks of OpenFlow-based SDN\nTesting methods for deploying SDN applications\nTroubleshooting lessons for SDN\n\nYou’ll learn about network performance concepts and the tools needed to monitor performance locally and end-to-end.
